The People of Chattacon

All guests of honor, panelists, performers, presenters, artists or any other individual who may present in some way at Chattacon are booked in good faith and we have their guarantee that they will appear when we announce they will be at the convention. However, unforeseen events (illness, family emergencies or production work) may cause a particular guest to cancel.

Perif Charlifu

Peri is a potter and graphic artist who has been selling his work for 40 years, and in the science fiction convention market for 22. Art is his full-time career. In addition to art production for sale, Peri teaches workshops and seminars on pottery, sculpture and theory. He is a member of the Colorado Chapter Convention Artists Guild.

His work is exhibited and sold all over the United States as well as other countries. As of 2019, Peri has made over 58,000 individual pieces of art, most of which are functional handmade pottery pieces. His work is available for special order and at art shows only.

Peri works mainly in a high density mix of porcelain and white stoneware. He mixes his own glaze and, except for some specialty pieces, his work is food, oven and microwave safe. All the design work is hand painted and/or carved and he mixes all his own stains and colors.

Artist Mission Statement:

My art philosophy is simple; not to strive for perfection, because perfection is illusionary, but to strive to become better with every piece I produce. It is my goal to excel in my craft, not only in appearance, but in technique, structure, understanding of the materials and speed of creation. I not only want a fine piece of art, I want to understand the process, use the materials and techniques in a new way and strip conventional ways of thinking to produce new and fresh work. I want my costumers to always be delighted to see new work and offer well-made functional work at an affordable price.
