All guests of honor, panelists, performers, presenters, artists or any other individual who may present in some way at Chattacon are booked in good faith and we have their guarantee that they will appear when we announce they will be at the convention. However, unforeseen events (illness, family emergencies or production work) may cause a particular guest to cancel.

Big Daddy Voodoo

Big Daddy Voodoo

Big Daddy Voodoo has been entertaining audiences for over 10 years as a performer, professional emcee, sports announcer, and event host.

Starting out announcing roller derby in his hometown of Johnson City, Tennessee, he worked his way up to becoming a well known announcing personality across the southeast United States, announcing for multiple WFTDA National Playoffs and countless local teams’ home games.  Years of trial and error producing and performing for roller derby audiences gave him the experience to engage audiences of any kind and bring a level of essential value that led to a career of professional event hosting.

In addition to roller derby, he has professionally announced a wide  variety of events such as: The “Addy” Awards; YPTri Pie Wars Pizzeria Competition; BaconFest; Young Professionals Kingsport recruitment dance; Thrill-the-World;  Maker Faire, various music festivals. Convention costume contests and panels are a special love: Connapalooza, RobCon, Koku Manga, ShivaCon, DragonCon and, of course, ChattaCon are a sampling of that list!  He is the voice of Power 945 (con radio), and announces annual Monster Truck Races at Bristol Motor Speedway!

A con attendee since 1998, he has worked TechOps for DragonCon, produced videos for DragonCon TV, and been a regular at cons all across the Mid Atlantic! He is fond of saying, “Cons are my happy place!”

His other projects have included, filmmaking, esports announcing, voice overs, audiobook narration, The Secrets Society, a live burlesque & oddity show, sound design, fire safety support, and announcing for Unifire Theater ( Western North Carolina’s premiere fire performance group,) writing comic books, rpg games, and hosting live murder mystery dinners.

In 2016 he took his 25 plus years of professional video streaming and video production day job experience and, under his Techno Bohemia production imprint,  started producing his own web content including Hometown East Tennessee, a show devoted to local personalities and events around his home town of Johnson City, Tennessee.

When he is not writing, performing, or dreaming, BDV  produces “The Secrets Society.” an oddity variety show and adventures with his dog and best friends through space and time.
