The People of Chattacon

All guests of honor, panelists, performers, presenters, artists or any other individual who may present in some way at Chattacon are booked in good faith and we have their guarantee that they will appear when we announce they will be at the convention. However, unforeseen events (illness, family emergencies or production work) may cause a particular guest to cancel.

B.L. Blankenship

B. L. Blankenship is a noted historian, theologian, demonologist, and published author who proudly calls Roane County, Tennessee home. He began writing Western Horror in 2020 with his dual novel “God Walks The Dark Hills: Book I&II.” Prior to this, he had published several non-fiction books under another name, has had a lengthy background inside the music industry in multiple capacities, and has worked professionally as a graphic artist for nearly a decade.

Whereas most authors that publish Western Horror tend to bounce around, the 19th century has always appealed to him and thus that is where the overwhelming majority of his work will tend to stay. Further, he has no plans for having any kind of a multiverse within his writings. Whether a stand-alone book or canonical series, the overall tone of real-world human cruelty and such will echo through them all.

Be advised, all of his books are explicitly violent and graphic in detail to the extent that some have deemed his work as extreme horror. His historical fiction encompasses supernatural, demonic, cryptozoological, Lovecraftian/existential, home-invasion, psychological, slasher, and other aspects found with horror tropes. The locations, weather conditions, details of major events, and so forth tend to be disturbingly real. Those factors are intentionally there to tether his fiction to this world.

Moreover, loving to subvert expectations he tends to make his protagonists Confederates, Copperheads, and such thereby illustrating the world through their lens.
