Media Relations
The Chattacon Media Relations Department is responsible for informing the public of an organization’s mission, policies and practices in a positive, consistent and credible manner. Coordinating behind the scenes both online and off, our All-Volunteer-Staff handles local and other fandom convention events, promotions, and local media access for all Chattacon activities.
Here are just a few of the tasks that are handled by this department:
• Reviewing and vetting media badge requests
• Assembling and providing media kits to the press
• Guiding the press for the best Chattacon experience
• Addressing issues and concerns during Chattacon
• Providing post-convention follow-up
• Building long-term relationships with the media
Media Access
Day passes are available for news media to cover Chattacon. To request media access and information about the convention, include your name, organization, desired coverage plans and please contact the Chattacon Publicity Department Head, Thomas Kerns.
Chattacon IS a Literary Con... GET SEEN!
Chattacon is always looking for short stories, art work and other material for inclusion in our Program Book. You can submit material by email to the editor or by mail to the Chattacon PO Box. Electronic formats, of course, are preferred. One short story may be chosen for publication by a biased panel of the editor’s own choosing whose decisions will be final. The author will be given a free membership to the convention.
Any and all submissions will remain the property of their authors with the stipulation that Chattacon has the non-exclusive right to publish (or not to publish) the submission in the next or subsequent Program Books.
