Chattacon returns to the Chattanooga Choo Choo for another year.
The World Famous Choo Choo is a historic hotel in Chattanooga that can trace its history back to The Terminal Station erected in 1908 by the Southern Railway. The station began operation in December of 1909 and for the next 61 years it served as a railway hub of transportation in Chattanooga. Southern Railway closed the terminal in 1970 due the decrease in rail traffic in the south. On April 11, 1973 the Terminal Station reopened as the famous Chattanooga Choo Choo.

Why Preregister?
This is one of the most asked questions at any con. There are many reason why you should preregister. It helps us have an idea how many people are coming to the con. Ever go to a barbecue and have them run out of hot dogs or sodas. That’s not something we want to have happen at Chattacon.
Having most of our people preregistered helps us to know how much to buy. Sure we could just get 12 boxes of everything, a keg of beverage & a couple of cans of cola and call it done. Of course, that is not going to feed very many people, but we could say we tried and be done.
On the other hand, we could buy 200,000 hot dogs and when the con was over we could feed the homeless for a month. We would have enough food, but we would waste so much money we wouldn’t be able to do a Chattacon 37.
By preregistering, we get a ballpark figure of the number of people interested in coming to the con and we can make smarter purchasing decisions. It also helps us pay our bills before the con instead of having to ask for credit from the hotel and our other suppliers. This helps us hold down costs as people generally charge you money to borrow their money or extend you credit.
As my father was often heard to mutter, “Cash is King.” And we can generally get a better deals for services.
