Christine Avery is an art-maker, a lover of beauty, bones, feathers and poetry. She uses primarily traditional media, from colored pencils to oil paints, to create scenes of imaginative realism.
She is a raptor rehabilitator, trainer and federally licensed falconer who lives and works with birds year-round, often keeping them in the studio with her while she creates. Her passion for the wild is a common theme in her artwork.
She lives in Dayton, Ohio with her husband, Tim Waggoner, who is an award-winning author, a teacher and a constant source of encouragement in her creative endeavors. She is a new face in the world of illustration, having premiered her work at the Virtual World Fantasy Convention art show at the end of 2020.
