Antonia Katherine Flora Weisskopf Reinhardt also uses T.K.F. Weisskopf as a byline. But most fans know her as Toni.
Born in Walham, MA, she spent her early childhood in Brooklyn until her family moved to Huntsville, AL when she was 12. This is when she became involved with Science Fiction Fandom, attending her first convention in 1980.
She has a degree in anthropology from Oberlin College, but claims to have spent more time in the science fiction club than anything else. (She held various offices in that organization including President.)
She began working at Baen Books right out of college and worked her way up to executive editor before succeeding founder Jim Baen as publisher upon his death in 2006.
She says about her career "I've had the chance to work with some of my idols in the field, including Robert A. Heinlein before he died, Fred Pohl, Spider Robinson, Lois Bujold, David Weber, Charles Sheffield, Anne McCaffrey - a bunch of others." and " I get to commission the kind of fun, adventurous, mind-expanding SF stories I like to read. Hopefully, others will like them, too! "
Toni is the first recipient of the Triple Crown of Southern Fandom. She won the Phoenix Award for excellence in Science Fiction by a Professional in 1994. She also received the Rubble Award for doing the most to fandom the same year. She was award the Rebel Award, for outstanding contributions to Southern Fandom by a Fan, in 2000.
The widow of Southern fan and swordmaster Hank Reinhardt, she is the mother of a delightful seventeen-year old daughter, and is possessed by a truly devilish little dog, and a fat and lazy cat who styles himself a "rare white mini-puma."
