We have had to make changes to how we can offer the Dead Dog Party. The Dead Dog Party on Sunday Evening is a reserved event for the staff and guests of Chattacon.
First and foremost our Dead Dog Party is and has always been a way to say Thank You to all our hard working Volunteers. Without who Chattacon would not be possible. It is an opportunity for them to destress a little before having to face the “real world” again. While in the past this was hosted/catered by the Consuite and opened to any attendee that was still around late Sunday evening. A few years ago this was changed to being catered by the hotel. This raise the quality of the “thank you” to the volunteers as well as giving a break to the Consuite Volunteers.
Last year due to budget constraints we had to limit the attendance to Volunteers only. Though we tried to communicate this change, it did catch some by surprise. We have listened to the input and suggestions offered. This year we are going to offer a way for non-volunteers to attend the Dead Dog Party. Tickets can be purchase at Convention Registration for $25. The Dead Dog Party includes a Dinner buffet catered by the hotel including desert and the same beverages from the consuite. Tickets can only be purchased onsite at Registration and must be done so by 9pm Friday night. These tickets are non-refundable but transferable.
